Ashtanga Yoga

Characterized by a vigorous pace and challenging sequence, students will be led through the Primary Series, a set of flowing postures linked by the breath. The practice opens with warming sun salutations and standing poses, closes with seated postures and relaxation, and is designed to build strength and stamina while cultivating a meditative state of mind. Developed by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Ashtanga yoga is the style from which all forms of Vinyasa and Power Yoga have evolved. This class is best for athletes, those who are fit and experienced yoga practitioners.

Kundalini Yoga

This style incorporates yoga postures, breathing exercises, mantras, mudras and meditation to awaken the Kundalini (serpent) energy housed at the base of the spine. Brought to the West by Yogi Bhajan, Kundalini yoga is an ancient tool for promoting physical well-being, expanding consciousness and tapping into creativity. This class is open to all levels.

Hatha Yoga

A blend of styles, our Hatha classes incorporate strength building, deep stretching and breathing to promote the flow of energy in the body and clear the mind for meditation. Hatha is translated as ha meaning "sun" and tha meaning "moon." This refers to the balance of masculine aspects–active, hot, sun–and feminine aspects–receptive, cool, moon–within all of us. Hatha yoga is a path toward uniting opposites and creating balance in body and mind. This class moves at a slower pace and is well suited for beginners.

Power Yoga

An athletic approach to yoga originally developed by Beryl Bender Birch, this vigorous practice flows with the breath from one movement to the next and incorporates sun salutations, standing and seated postures, back bends and inversions. This class is best for athletes, those who are fit, and experienced yoga practitioners.
