What is remote training?
Just like when you work with a personal trainer in the gym, remote training is a great opportunity to receive one-on-one attention from a qualified fitness professional. You will have a 30 or 55 minute video call with your trainer where he or she will be able to demonstrate exercises, evaluate your exercise form, and offer corrections, advice, and motivation. Select trainers are also offering outdoor remote options.

Our award-winning trainers are able to implement strategies that help you get the most efficient and effective workouts from the safety of your own home. With remote training, you’ll get a progressive exercise program suited to your specific goals and fitness level. Our trainers can even come up with substitutions for equipment you might use in the gym, but don’t have at home. Let them do the problem-solving for you, so you can focus on all the other important things in your life.

Accountability

Let’s face it, even in the best of times, it can be difficult to motivate yourself to work out. This is a uniquely stressful time, and though exercise has been repeatedly shown to be a great stress-reliever, now that the gym is closed and the social aspect of exercise is missing, it can be even more difficult to get off the couch and into your workout clothes. When you schedule a workout with your trainer, you know that you’ll at least spend that time working out. Your trainer will be there to cheer you on as you sweat it out in your living room. You don’t have to do it alone.

Community

With social-distancing becoming the new normal, many of us feel isolated and alone. We worry that the places we love to frequent will no longer be there when we’re able to return to them. And that worry is well-founded. While other area gyms have been forced to lay off all of their employees, Healthworks is working hard to maintain their training staff. With remote training, you can support your favorite local gym and a trainer who lives and works in your community. This is a great way to “buy local” while meeting your own fitness needs. Miss your college or work friends? They can virtually join you for a workout with your favorite trainer!

teamTRAINING

teamTRAINING at Healthworks is a fun and effective way to reach your fitness goals. With no more than 8 participants, you’ll find the attention of a personal trainer and the motivation that comes from working in a group. Singles and seasons offered currently, remotely and outdoors. Dianna has made it possible for me to keep up regular exercise in my own home, which is essential for keeping physically (and mentally) healthy in these difficult times.
She has found creative ways to use the limited available space, the exercise equipment that I already have plus recommending one small addition, which I had delivered.
Most important, she has adapted my exercise program so that I can continue to keep up my fitness. Since she knows what I’ve been doing and what my needs are, she is finding all kinds of ways to help me “stay the course.”
We use FaceTime for in person sessions, which works very well. Skype would also work. She can see what I’m doing well enough to help me to do the exercises with the correct form, which is such an important part of what she has to offer.

I highly recommend virtual training sessions with Dianna. Initially I was skeptical about how effective virtual training could be, but I am very pleased. My exercise equipment at home is limited, but Dianna can adapt an exercise to use what I have to make it work , ex., two vacuum sweeper rods become an exercise dowel rod. The best part of continuing my training is I have Dianna’s expertise twice a week. Our sessions are 30 minutes and are challenging yet fun. The workout is in a small bedroom in my apartment. My workout space is the my yoga mat (74”x 24”). I place my iPad about 40” away from the mat. I am finding the sessions to be a great stress reliever and helpful in maintaining my strength and stamina. I am so happy I tried virtual training.
