As a professional swing dancer I have been teaching people how to confidently move their bodies as well as grow their mind body connection for 6 years which is what brought me into the fitness world. I love seeing my clients become more confident in themselves and meeting their fitness goals along the way. My fitness philosophy is functional fitness as well as strength training. My goal is to have my clients become more confident in themselves and be able to move unassisted well into their older years.

EXPERIENCE
My journey into the fitness industry began with a desire to heal myself. I worked in an office for years, and accumulated many aches and pains, so I understand what it's like to lose confidence in one's ability to move. I have mentored under several physical therapists and worked with clients of varying ages and movement abilities. Wherever you are on your health and fitness journey, I would love to help you take it to the next level to reach your goals.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
I believe that when you move well, you feel well. There is no part of the body that works in isolation, so I train my clients with a holistic approach that involves creating a solid foundation, incorporating movement variability, and cultivating full body awareness. Ultimately, I aim to support my people by creating safe and effective exercise programs that can help them achieve their personal health and fitness goals. Movement is medicine!
CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
"Dave has been the best personal trainer I've ever had! He is clearly passionate about his work, and unquestionably patient and professional. He has extensive knowledge of human anatomy and physiology and uses that understanding to create diverse exercise programs that have helped me achieve my fitness goals. In each session, I find Dave to be easy to understand and focused on my progress. He's always teaching me something new! A year ago, I would never have imagined myself to be as strong and in the shape as I am today, and I have Dave to thank for that!" -Shelby N.

TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
All fitness journeys begin with a goal, inspired by an ideal version of ones' self. It’s a motivating force, but alone, we are not always sure of how best to direct that energy. Those goals may start to seem unreachable, especially if we have tried before and come up short. But as long as we break those goals down into manageable steps, apply the right science, and make it fun for you – we can achieve them together. Successful training means you have someone to support you, keep that motivation driving you, and making sure you’re moving safe and effectively. That’s where I come in! Resistance training isn't just for bodybuilders; it's for everyone. With it, we can live longer, more capable lives. That’s what I want for the people that I train.
PERSONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
I cut my body fat percentage from 20% to 13% in 18 weeks, helped a client go from 8 to 20 push-ups, forced my roommates to get healthier by putting their soda on top of the fridge where they can’t reach, ate apple pie and vanilla ice cream for dessert every day for 10 days and still lost a pound of fat – which goes to show how an effective diet and exercise program can lead to results without having to sacrifice the foods we love.

TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
Exercise should be fun! I never want you to dread a workout – I want to help you find activities that will help you reach your goals, while also providing enjoyment. Fitness comes in all shapes and is unique to each person, but it’s always a holistic endeavor of feeling good in mind, body, and soul. It should fuel your confidence and build self-efficacy, both inside and outside of the gym. I hope to join you on your fitness journey, wherever you may be, to provide a safe, enjoyable (and a little silly if you wish!), and judgment-free experience!

I work with all ages and fitness levels, but specialize in getting and keeping the aging body fit, healthy and balanced. Boxing is also a passion of mine and I love how empowered women feel after throwing their first punch.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
Work hard, play hard, laugh hard. I experienced a mid-life awakening and discovered that it’s never too late to get trim and fit and be my personal best, and that’s true for us all. I prescribe a fun and varied routine based on each client’s personal goals, needs and preferences. My job is to discover what those needs and desires are – even if they seem impossible – and lead them towards those goals with enough push to make their workouts challenging, but still fun. Healthy aging is among the most important goals that everyone should reach for and I work to help my clients achieve that, even if they have injuries, pain and illness to work through.
PERSONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS

I also spent the last year living on the Big Island of Hawaii – a paradise and lifelong dream of mine, but I’m so happy to be back at Healthworks.
