EXPERIENCE
My fitness journey began at a very young age by playing sports. Sports were an escape from the difficulties that come with growing up in a single parent household. I quickly found a passion for football, but I love all team sports. My family (mother especially) always encouraged and supported me to pursue and eventually achieve my dreams of playing at the collegiate level. I was typically one of the smallest kids on my teams so I learned to make up for whatever lack of natural ability I had by outworking my oppositions on and off the fields. After my college career was cut short by a series of injuries I was fortunate enough to learn how to heal my own body through exercise and proper mechanics, and decided that sharing my knowledge with others was my calling. Now more than a decade into this career I am thrilled to expand my knowledge and share my experiences with the Healthworks community.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
Exercise is for EVERYONE! It can be a challenge to find the type of exercise that are enjoyable and beneficial to each individual, but therein lies the fun for us as trainers. Working with clients to find what helps them to be their healthiest and happiest versions of themselves is what drives me everyday. I firmly believe that when you stop learning you stop living so challenging yourself in some way daily whether its mentally, physically or a combination of both is the key to the fountain of youth.

EXPERIENCE
I enjoy working with new members or those starting out on their journeys to help integrate them into the club and to develop personalized programs to help them achieve their goals. I also love working with clients who are looking to change up their routine and challenge themselves. Incorporating flexibility, as well as injury prevention techniques, into client plans to build confidence and maintain a safe environment. Agility and endurance training for those who are looking to feel lighter on their feet and less out of breath.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
Knowing that you are unique! Everyone is different and therefore trains differently. Remember that what works for someone else may not work for you, but know that there is something out there that will work for you. Set your goals and make your plan based on what you want to improve. Staying positive and motivated is the key to your success. No matter what, you are here for you and that is the first step in the right direction!

EXPERIENCE
My first experience in a gym wasn’t the best. I started working out by lifting weights with my high school football team. I was one of the skinniest and weakest kids on the team and felt too embarrassed to work out in front of other people. I started working out at home to get stronger and gain more confidence in myself. Seeing progress mentally and physically made me fall in love with exercising and the process that went into achieving fitness goals. Since then, I’ve trained for marathons, Spartan races, and spent time studying and trying many different exercise plans and training styles in order to feel my best both physically and mentally.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
Feeling good inside and out. Working out is awesome! You can get stronger and faster, change the way you look, become more flexible, gain or lose weight, and manipulate and challenge your body in so many ways. On top of the physical benefits, I love working out because of how it makes me feel. I love the feeling of accomplishment after a workout when I know I’m done with the most physically exhausting hour of my day and I did something to make myself better. No matter how you exercise, or what your goals are, finishing a workout is a small victory that gets you one step closer to feeling your best both inside and out.

EXPERIENCE
As a trainer I work to educate my clients about what they are doing and why - how what we do will help with meeting goals, but also how these movement patterns and strength will make everyday life that much more enjoyable on many levels. Learning correct form and movement before adding a challenging weight will always be the beginning of anything you do.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
Nobody’s goals are exactly the same. Two of us may have the same number of pounds we would love to say goodbye to, or have the same 1 rep max lift in mind, or want to wear the same size pants - but it is the reason why we want to achieve our goals that make them unique. What I love about my job is helping women create, achieve, and build on the goals that drive them - which so often translates into energy and passion outside of the gym as well!

TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
Fitness should be a way for you to learn to love your body for all it does for you! Throughout my own fitness journey, I have learned that the gym can be a great tool for your mental health and overall well-being. Training should be enjoyable and make you feel good, and that's the kind of training I want to provide for you. I will strive to help you feel like your best self all while making sure you reach your individual goals!

EXPERIENCE
I have been an athlete my entire life and consider it a major part of my identity. I have played volleyball, lacrosse, swimming, and golf and actually played all four years for my undergrad university. With being an athlete and participating in many different sports, I have learned a lot about fitness, movement, health, wellness, body mechanics, and so much more. Prior to becoming a personal trainer, I was interested in coaching and have some experience coaching children and adults in various sports. These experiences guided me towards personal training where I am excited to make positive change in the lives of my clients.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
My mission as a Personal Trainer is to serve as a pillar of support in a client’s health and wellness journey. I do this by helping clients create and achieve specific health goals and offer new and innovative ways of participating and engaging in health, wellness, exercise, and fitness. My training focus centers around strength and muscle development, strength and power building, sport performance and sport training, as well as general exercise development.

TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
I want you to be excited about coming to the gym! I want this place to feel like your playground and that your workouts aren’t just challenging, but that they are also fun.

EXPERIENCE
I grew up in a very active family. My parents were collegiate D1 gymnasts, so sports were part of my life growing up. Unfortunately, when I went to college, I gained the grad school 30. When I got out of school, I hired my own personal trainer and he changed my life. He showed me what it means to value your body and mind. Weight loss is not just a physical change, but a mental one, as well. When I am eating healthy and working out, I feel my best, in every aspect of wellness. Being able to help someone else experience that joy makes it all worth it. If you are ready for this journey, I am here for you.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
One body. Working out is not just about looking good and lifting heavy weights. It’s a complete mind and body experience. There isn’t just one workout that works for everybody. It is about finding what you love and staying active. The most important thing is to keep moving, keep improving and never give up on yourself. Now let’s find your best “one” body.

I’ve worked in the fitness industry for 30 years and for 25 of those years as a Personal Trainer here at Healthworks. I have a soft spot for expecting and new moms and enjoy working with fitness newbies and women interested in overall health and fitness who are trying to incorporate exercise and activity into their busy lives. I especially love the challenge of teaching them navigate the gym and make decisions about their workouts independently.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
I believe that a health and fitness program should be fun, effective and time efficient and should fit into a woman’s life and not the other way around. Even as a fitness professional as the mother of three children I struggled to find the balance between raising a family, my career and maintaining and improving my fitness. I understand how overwhelming that can feel and the good news is that with the right program and a little encouragement and guidance, it can be done.

EXPERIENCE
Over the past 10 years I have worked with a variety of clients. My background as a college lacrosse player and coach has helped me provide student athletes with the tools they need to take their game and fitness to the next level. As someone who has done the Boston Marathon as well as Triathlons I have the knowledge to assist anyone looking to challenge themselves and push past their fitness limits, whether it is your first 5k or your 10th Ironman, I’ll work with you to achieve results you are striving for. And while not all of us are competitive athletes I find that it is important to build a program that works for you and keeps you consistent. My most recent experience working with my senior clients has proven to me that our limitations are often in our mind and a body in motion is a healthy body.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
Health and Fitness is a lifetime pursuit achieved by setting and accomplishing small monthly, weekly and daily goals. Getting started can be intimidating, for many of us it’s a struggle to find, (make) the time, to put ourselves first. We are all our worst critics. Too often we listen to the negative voices in our head which break us down and have us believing we can’t ever reach the fitness level we desire. I believe that a healthy fitness program begins with the mind and the language we use within ourselves. Replacing the I “NEED or HAVE” to work out with “WANT” to work out, or “WANT” to be healthier. As your personal trainer I am here to support you and strengthen your inner voice, to motivate and guide you through this journey. I will provide you with the tools, knowledge and confidence to reach your full potential. It’s my goal every day to make sure you walk away from our session feeling better than you did when you arrived, physically, emotionally or spiritually.

After battling childhood obesity for myself, and losing a significant amount of weight, I was inspired to help individuals reach their fitness goals. Since attaining my Personal Training certification, I have had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of clients, from weight loss to strength training and everywhere in between. There is nothing more rewarding than the day someone reaches their goal weight, or their personal best in a lift. Then to see each client further inspired to raise the bar, set another goal and to better themselves each time is what drives me as a personal trainer.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
Personal wellness and fitness is one of the most beneficial parts of your life, but is also sometimes the hardest to try and improve. There will always be things standing in your way of building a better lifestyle. However, it is crucial to push through those barriers and to make sure you don’t quit on yourself. You can overcome every barrier and keep pushing forward.

I started at Healthworks in 2011 and was hired as a personal trainer in 2012. As a four-year collegiate athlete and exercise science/physical therapy major, I knew I wanted to continue on my journey and be able to help women live their healthiest lives. I’ve had the opportunity to work with women of all fitness levels, including but not limited to: high school and college athletes, weight loss, those new to exercise, and post-surgery and rehabilitation clients.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
I love watching my clients explore new movements and exercises outside their comfort zones and succeed as long as they’re willing to try. I want to meet you where you are and then help you move forward to live your best life and love every minute of it. Sure, there will be set-backs, but that’s why I’m here. I want to help you get through it and provide whatever support you may need, whether it’s reassessing your goals, changing up workouts on the fly, or check-in emails for accountability, I’m here to help YOU reach YOUR goals!

EXPERIENCE
I have been in the fitness industry for ten years. I gained an interest in corrective exercise and pre/post rehab because I worked closely with a physical therapy office my first four years of training. I train individuals who are recovering from injury or pre and post surgery as well as seniors interested in injury prevention. I have always enjoyed playing sports and mountain biking, but my primary focus since 2012 has been with Boston Roller Derby.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
Strength progressions can only be safely achieved if muscle imbalances and postural distortions are corrected first. In the years that I have been training I have yet to meet anyone who is 100% free from imbalances; therefore, it is imperative that one is aware of their posture and learns how everyday life contributes to the stress placed on the body. Through a structured core and posture improvement program, one can be sure that they will not only prevent injury and get stronger, but will learn more about their body than they have ever been aware of.

I have been a personal trainer at Healthworks for over seven years. I work with a wide variety of clients of different fitness levels. I am passionate about providing my clients with challenging programs while also being flexible based on new goals, injuries, etc. My fitness journey has taken many twists and turns, the latest being a new role as a mom, which has helped me to identify with many challenges’ women face in the gym.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
I am a big believer in the mental benefits of exercise. Sometimes a challenging workout is just as important for stress relief as it is for physical goals. My goal is to have you leave our sessions feeling better (both physically and mentally) than when you arrived. Whether that involves pushing you a little harder than you thought you could go or taking the time to reevaluate your fitness plan, I am committed to helping you get the most out of your training sessions. Having fun is important too!

EXPERIENCE
In my nearly ten years at Healthworks, I’ve enjoyed working with women who are both brand new to fitness, or looking to expand on their current routine. My favorite clients are motivated, and excited to learn more about exercise, regardless of their experience. I’m passionate about helping people move more safely through their workouts, as well as their day, and to feel stronger both in and outside of the gym. In my personal workouts, I love lifting heavy, and just completed my first powerlifting competition.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
Training is so important, because it helps us to realize what we’re capable of, both in the gym, and our everyday lives. You’re stronger than you think, I guarantee it. Whether the goal is to do the pull up you've always wanted to, to feel healthier through a pregnancy, or more energetic while playing with your grandchildren, strength training helps with all of it. Above all, exercise shouldn’t be a punishment, it should be a way to celebrate, and enhance what you’re capable of.

During my many years at Healthworks, I have worked with women of all ages and of every fitness level. I love introducing clients to exercise and helping them enjoy it as much as possible! I love the challenge of the experienced exerciser and taking their fitness to new levels. Through developing our relationships, I have helped countless women gain strength, prepare for a race or event, lose weight, prepare for birth, come back after giving birth, improve their posture, gain confidence, and most importantly, find what works best for them- for their body and their mind.
TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
I know that not everyone is not going to love exercise as much as I do- and that is ok! But what is so important to me is that a client isn’t torturing themselves (mentally or physically!) by doing things that they hate because they think it is the only way to get the results they want. There are many ways to train and to be happy. I want everyone to look forward to their workouts and to the feeling they get during and after- and the reward that comes from doing what they thought was impossible!
