Meet Sonia Guterman- a women leader, a scientist, an attorney, an entrepreneur, a wife, a mother, and a grandmother!
Sonia has been a member of Healthworks since the 80’s. Truly, she is an OG!🥇
She shared with us how she remembers being a member at our club back when we had the basement unit where Michaels arts and crafts currently is in Cambridge!
Sonia is a published scientist 🧬 and an attorney👩🏽⚖️! Her scientific work was even cited by the Nobel Prize Committee in chemistry in 2018!
She shares with us that Healthworks has been there for her through all the phases of her life and has become an integral part of her lifestyle.
She is passionate about a women’s centered club as she is one of the first advocates to introduce a bill in Back Bay, Boston that Healthworks remains a women’s-only club. In her advocacy she shares that women from different walks of life need an inviting and safe community to exercise in.
Being a scientist in the 70’s was a predominantly male-dominated field. She goes on to share that Healthworks helped provide her more confidence and strength when going back to her work at MIT.
We appreciate you, Sonia! You are a reminder that our clubs are filled with amazing people that make our community a better place. ❤️
